For the last four weeks of the half term we will be reading and writing adventure and mystery stories.
Over the weekend, how about getting a head start by looking at your DVD collection and making a list of all the films (U or PG only please!) that you think might be classed as adventure or mystery, or both! Maybe you could persuade an adult at home to let you watch one and jot down the features - eg. what danger is there; where does the hero travel to; are any mysterious objects involved?
You can post your list on the blog by going to the 'comments' link at the bottom of this text. Write your list, with your FIRST NAME ONLY (You can put the first letter of your second name if someone has the same first name )at the bottom, then type in the weird word in the security box, whatever it is, click the anonymous box, and post!
Have fun! This message will self destruct in 5 seconds...

Adding and Subtracting
We're looking at word problems in Maths this week, and this is what you need to remember:
Read the problem carefully.
Pick out the calculation.
Estimate!
Calculate!
Check!
Answer the problem.
Answering these problems can be, well, a problem, if you have forgotton how to add or subtract! Remind yourself of the number line method of subtraction on the school website: http://fairislemaths.blogspot.com/2008/11/at-fairisle-junior-school-we-want-your.html

3BB Santa Poem
This is the first draft of our poem chorus. Can you improve it at all? Ask the adults at home to help. Remember it needs to be catchy and rythmic enough to perform!
Ho Ho Ho! Santa's in town.
Ho Ho Ho! Santa's getting down.
Pretend you're asleep,
Don't you peep,
Ho Ho Ho! Shh - he's here right now!
Bring your ideas to school tomorrow!

3BB Connected!
In PSHE we found that we are all connected in some way. From friendships to eye colour to how many brothers we have, we can all make connections with each other, even if we get in a bit of a tangle!
